Rose of England appears to be for let
Royal Oak, Nottingham Rd - Moon and Stars, Bulwell both up for sale
Moot Carrying on as normal, after change of ownership, Music quiz night no longer being run by Spyke.

Robin Hood and Little John, now just called the Robin Hood reopened. No any Mild or Merry Men (in the name that is, there will probably be some inside)!

The Lion at Basford begins a great Winter drinks promotion from November 1st. Heaven Around Seven will see a high quality cask ale served on Pump Number Seven at £1.75 per pint at the following times. After 7pm on Sundays and before 7pm Monday to Saturday. Andrew Crawford 28/10/07

The monkey tree at west bridgford is currently closed and undergoing a £800,000 redevelopment and is due to open on the 1st December 2007. from Andrew Dudley 11/10/07

The Full Moon at Morton has recently changed hands. It has been taken over by William and Rebecca White, who used to run the very popular Wagon and Horses at Halam. They have introduced a new menu and have four handspumps on, one of which is always a beer from a local brewery. They mentioned Milestone beer coming on next. Other beers were Black Sheep, Adnams Broadside and Bombardier. Richard Price 4/10/07

The Magpie at Stapleford has been taken over by The Pub People and immediately they have introduced real ale. there are two choices on sale to begin with but this range will extend as demand grows.

The Stanhope Arms at Stanton by Dale has undergone a special Pub People refit and is extremely busy for food and drink. The 3 ales on sale are Black Sheep, Greene King IPA and Bombardier. This is a great destination pub especially with the new outside drinking terrace to the rear.

The Hayloft at Giltbrook, near Ikea is also one of PPCs new additions. A great pub with a choice of three ales. Good vale food is a speciality here. Andrew Crawford 12/9/07

The Crown Brewery at the Hillsborough Hotel, Sheffield has started brewing again. New full time brewer is Stuart Ross, formally of Kelham Brewery. Beers are:
HPA (Hillsborough Pale Ale) 3.9%
Loxley Gold 4.5%
Samuel Berrys 5.1%
Middlewood Mild 3.8%
Stannington Stout 5.0%
Traditional Bitter 4.0%
Primrose Pale 4.2%
Primrose Ginger Bush 4.2%

The Robin Hood & Little John Lambley is now reopened. Now selling real cask ale again. Selection as before exept no Banks's Origional. It will be closed again, maybe early September for the referbishment, Will probably take about six weeks, but when and how long much depends on the builders. From Howard Clark 16/8/07

The Priory Bar
at the top of Hockley across from Lloyds No 1 has been refurbished and is now "The Cape" and is still owned by Barracuda Inns. It has three handpulls with beer being supplied by Scotco.


The Lace Market Hotel, Nottingham has been voted No 8 in the 50 best British Hotels as published by the Independent. One of the influencing factors was the Cock & Hoop pub which is part of the hotel

The Old Moot Hall has been re-furbished. It is now "THE MOOT". Not a drastic amount altered. Mainly some re-decoration and addition of a few padded bench type seats. Howard Clark 1/5/07
